Indicators
If one of these indicators does not come on when it should, have your dealer check for
problems.
Honda SMART Key indicator
Comes on when vehicle and Honda

SMART Key verification is complete, and
the ignition switch can be operated.
Goes off when the ignition switch is turned

to the (On) position.
When the Honda SMART Key Indicator
Flashes:

Idling Stop indicator
Comes on briefly when the Idling Stop switch
in the IDLING STOP with the ignition switch
turned to the (On) position.
Idling Stop system:
High coolant temperature indicator
Comes on when the coolant temperature
exceeds the specified value.
If it comes on while riding:
PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection)
malfunction indicator lamp (MIL)
Comes on briefly when the ignition switch is
turned to the (On) position.
