Installation and regulation of power tool
elements
Before carrying out any works on the power tool it
must be disconnected from the mains.
Do not draw up the fastening elements
too tight to avoid damaging the thread.
Additional handle (see fig. 1)
Always use the additional handle 5 when operating
Additional handle 5 may be positioned as deemed
comfortable by the user
• Loose additional handle 5 as shown in fig. 1.1.
• Place additional handle 5 in desired position (see
fig. 1.2).
• Tighten additional handle 5 as shown in fig. 1.3.
Mounting / replacement of chisel (see fig. 2)
• Before installing the borer (chisel), clean it and lubri-
cate the shank with a thin layer of oil
• Move the fixing bush 3 back and hold it in this
position (see fig. 2.1).
• Mount / replace the chisel (see fig. 2.2)
• Release the fixing bush 3 (see fig. 2.3).
• Test the chisel fixing by trying to remove it from
chuck 1 (SDS PLUS)
Gloves are to be used when removing the
accessory from chuck 1 (SDS PLUS), as
the chisel may be dangerously hot after
long using.
Mounting / replacement of dust protection casing
(see fig. 3)
Dust protection casing 2 prevents the dust
from entering the SDS PLUS chuck. Never
use your power tool with a damaged dust
protection casing 2 - if damaged, it must
be immediately replaced. You can either do it on
your own, or contact the CROWN service center.
• Move fixing bush 3 back and hold it in that position
(see fig. 3.1).
• Pull dust protection casing 2, and remove it (see
fig. 3.2).
• Install a new dust protection casing 2 (see fig. 3.3).
• Release fixing bush 3 (see fig. 3.4).
Initial operating of the power tool
• Always use the correct supply voltage: the power
supply voltage must match the information quoted on
the power tool identification plate.
• The power tool is supplied properly lubricated and
ready for use
• A new power tool needs some time for its parts to
run in before a full load operation The run-in period
duration is about 5 hours of operation
• The gear lubrications require a short time to get
warm Depending on the ambient temperature this
period of time can alter within the range of approxi-
mately 15 s (at ambient temperature of 32°С) up to 2
minutes (at ambient temperature of 0°С).
Switching the power tool on / off
Switching on:
Press and hold on / off switch 8
Switching off:
Release the on / off switch 8
Design features of the power tool
Chisel rotation (see fig. 4)
Chisel rotation allows to set the chisel in a comfortable
position for chiselling works
• Move forward the bush 4 (see fig. 4.1).
• Rotate the bush 4 to set chisel in a comfortable
position for chiselling works (see fig. 4.2).
• Move backward the bush 4 (see fig. 4.3).
Vibration protection system
The vibration protection system is design to reduce vi-
bration impact (during operation) on the operator
Power indicator
Power indicator 9 is on when the power tool is con-
nected to the mains and is ready to be switched on
Recommendations on the power tool
operation
Wear thick soft gloves when working to
reduce vibration impact on your body.
• When working, make sure to properly adjust the
working accessory to the material being processed:
not too close to the edge as the power tool will need
to be displaced often, but not too far as the accessory
can get stuck in the material being processed
• Press the power tool while holding it tightly with both
hands Do not use excessive force: the energy of the
percussion mechanism is enough for the effective per-
formance
• Avoid the excessive penetration of the working ac-
cessory into the material being processed (for exam-
ple, when loosening the soil or in the course of the
building structures destruction) as the working acces-
sory may become stuck
• If the working accessory becomes stuck in the ma-
terial during the operation, do not attempt to free it
with the use of the power tool as a lever as the power
tool can be damaged Remove the power tool from
the jammed accessory Continue the operation with
the use of another accessory in order to release the
jammed one Note: it is strictly prohibited to knock
out the jammed working accessories or to swing it
