To resolve the pedal issue with your GEWA UP 360 G when connected as a MIDI keyboard to GarageBand or Reaper, follow these steps:
1. Check Pedal Connection: Ensure the sustain pedal is properly connected to the "Sustain Pedal" input on the piano.
2. Reconnect the Pedal: If the pedal is not functioning correctly, unplug and reconnect it.
3. Verify MIDI Settings: Check if the pedal is transmitting MIDI data correctly. Some DAWs allow MIDI monitoring to confirm if the pedal sends the expected sustain messages (CC64 for sustain).
4. Adjust Damper Resonance: If sustain is not behaving as expected, adjust the damper resonance settings in the piano by navigating to *Piano Settings > Damper Resonance*.
5. Una Corda Level Adjustment: If using the left pedal, ensure the *Una Corda Level* is set correctly in the *Piano Settings* menu.
6. Sympathetic Resonance Settings: Adjust the *Sympathetic Resonance* settings if needed to modify the natural resonance effect when using the sustain pedal.
7. MIDI Configuration in DAW: Ensure that GarageBand or Reaper is correctly receiving and interpreting MIDI signals from the pedal. If necessary, reassign or remap the MIDI CC messages within the DAW.
If the issue persists, try using a different sustain pedal to rule out hardware problems.
