Possible cause
• Power is automatically turned off for saving
whenever you do not perform any operation
for about three minutes (Auto Power Off).
• The Battery power indicator may not work
properly for nickel cadmium (Ni-Cd)
rechargeable batteries.
• Occurs when turning on the Digital
Recorder without the built-in clock set.
• The lens body mark aligned with PLAY .
• Dead batteries.
• The MENU mode screen is displayed .
• The SmartMedia card not loaded properly,
or no card loaded.
• Insufficient or full card capacity.
• Self-timer mode is "ON".
• Occurs when recording subject with strong
contrast against background. Does not
indicate a malfunction.
Suggestion
• Slide the POWER switch again.

• Set the date and time before the first use (page 18).
• Rotate the lens body toward CAMERA.
• Replace the batteries with new ones or fully charged
rechargeable batteries (page 14).
• Press the MENU button to turn off the menu.
• Load the SmartMedia card correctly (page 17).
• Delete unnecessary images from the card (pages 33,
35, 41 and 43) or replace the card with new one
(page 17).
• Press the MENU button to cancel the Self-timer
recording.
