Fiber Information This unit was manufactured with attention to fiber cleanliness by Optelecom-NKF . Beyond the optical safety information contained in this manual, the following guidelines should be observed when working with optical fibers. The biggest problem is dirt! It takes very little contamination to cause problems with optical fiber connections; cleanliness is extremely important to proper operation of optical equipment.
The Model 9252DR Receiver accepts eight data input signals via the built-in data ports, multiplexes them into a composite data stream, and transmits it optically via the optical fiber to the 9252DT. HIGH SPEED AUX DATA PORTS (TWO) Each of these RJ45 ports on the 9252DT interfaces directly with Model 9961-C or Model 9962-C Auxiliary Data/Audio Mux/Demux Cards and other options, providing transport for their high-speed composite input/output data signals.
2. OPTICAL PORT The optical fiber cable connector is connected to this port for transmission of the optical signal to the 9252DT mux/transmitter. This port is an input/output on 9252D single fiber versions and an output on 9252D dual fiber versions.

Duplex RS485 2-Wire Synchronous Data Port To install, connect the video inputs to the 9252DT, connect the video monitors or other video receptors to the 9252DR, and connect an appropriate optical fiber between the 9252DT and 9252DR optical ports. Connect data signal sources or destinations, as required, to the “DATA” and “RS485” ports per the following Built-In Data Connection section.
Built-In Data Connection DATA AND RS485 PORTS There are four data ports on the 9252DT and 9252DR. Two of them, designated for general data comm use, are the “DATA” port and the “RS485” port. The “DATA” port supports two data channels, one a full-time RS232 channel and the other a configurable data channel that is dipswitch programmable for RS422, RS485 2- or 4-wire, or Manchester operation.
