    Introduction Thank you for purchasing a StarTech.com 3.5” bay multi-panel. This multi-purpose panel fits into an open 3.5” bay and provides you two convenient USB 2.0 ports as well as an ejectable 7-in-1 flash card reader. The 35FCREADREM works with CompactFlash memory cards, IBM-Microdrives, SmartMedia memory cards, Memory Stick cards, MemoryStick Pro cards, SecureDigital memory cards, and Multi-Media cards.

    USB connectors depend on your motherboard manufacturer. The improper connection of wires to the motherboard can result in damage to the motherboard and/or your 35FCREADREM. Make sure you consult your motherboard manufacturer if you are unsure of the layout of your motherboard.

    4. The card can now be accessed as an extra disk. Removing a Card 1. Make sure that none of the LEDs on the front of the card reader are flashing. If you remove the card when the LEDs are flashing, data may be lost from your card.
  • Page 7 You can plug the ejectable card reader directly into your computer’s USB port or into a USB hub. 1. With your PC turned off, plug the card reader into a free USB port. Turn on your computer. 2. A message will be displayed saying that new hardware has been found. Windows will automatically install the necessary drivers.

    The reader has not been properly connected or is not receiving enough power. Make sure that the reader’s USB cable is firmly seated in the USB port. If you are connecting the card reader to a hub, make sure that it is a powered hub. The card doesn’t fit in the reader.
