Your moweris shippedas a mulcher.Todischargethegrass clippings
to the side instead,followthe instructionsin the Assemblysectionto
attachthe sidedischargechute.
This bladecontrolis a safetydevice.Neverattemptto bypassits
operations.
DRIVE CONTROL
Thedrivecontrol is locatedon the undersideof the upperhandleand
is usedto engagethe drive. Squeezeit againstthe upper handleto
engagethedrive; releaseit to slow downor stop mowerfrom propel-
ling.
MULCH PLUG
Themulch plug is usedfor mulchingpurposes.Insteadof collecting
the grassclippingsin a grass catcheror usingthe sidedischarge
chute,somemowermodelshavetheoptionof recirculating the
clippingsbackto the lawn. This is calledmulching.
RECOIL STARTER
The recoilstarteris attachedto the rightupper handle.Standbehind
the unitand pull the recoilstarter ropeto start the unit.
Keep handsand feet awayfrom the chutearea on cuttingdeck. Refer
to warninglabel on the unit.
CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT LEVERS
Oneadjustmentleveris locatedon each wheeland is usedto adjust
the cuttingheight.All fourlevershaveto be at thesame relative
positionto ensurea uniformcut.
GAS CAP
Removethe gascap to add fuel to the fueltank. Useclean, fresh,
regularunleadedgasolinewith a minimumof 86 octane.
OIL FILL CAP/DIPSTICK
Referto the Maintenance sectionfor instructionson checkingthe oil.
SPARK PLUG
Referto the Maintenance sectionfor instructions on spark plug
replacement.
