How to Sew an Overlock Blind Hem

The excess fabric is trimmed and the hem is sewn and the
raw edges are overlocked in one operation.
The overlock blind hem is best suited for sewing knit wear.
It provides a durable finish that is almost invisible.
Use overedge right needle and adjust machine for a narrow
3-thread overlock stitch. (See page 43)
Note: The three-thread flatlock stitch can also be used.
(See page 44)
Set the stitch length dial at 4
Fold the hem to the wrong side of the fabric, then back to
the right side with 6 mm (1/4 inch) beyond the fold.
Stitch on the extended hem edge, allowing the machine
needle to barely catch the edge of the fold.
Note: An optional blindstitch foot is available.
(See page 68)
