SHARPENING
OR REPLACING
CHIPPER
BLADES
•
Disconnect the spark plug wire and move away from
the spark plug.
•
Remove the access plate by removingtwo hex lock
nuts. See figure 38.
•
Locate one of the chipperblades in the access plate
opening by rotating the impellerassembly by hand.
Remove the blade using a 3/16" alien wrench on the
outsideofthe blade and a 1/2" wrench on the impel-
ler assembly, inside the housing.
•
Remove the other blade in the same manner.
•
Replace or sharpen blades. If sharpening, make
certain to remove an equal amount from each blade.
Reassemble in reverse order.
NOTE: Make certain the blades are reassembled with
the sharp edge facing upward, as viewed from the access
plate opening.

Clean the engine and the entire unit thoroughly.
•
Refer to engine manual for correct engine storage
instructions.
•
If stohng in an unventilated or metal storage shed,
coat metal parts with light oil or silicone to prevent
rust.
•
Store unit in a clean, dry area.
