8 | NORMAL OPERATION OF UNIT

6. NORMAL OPERATION OF UNIT
Symptom 1: The system does not operate
The air conditioning unit does not start immediately after the unit has
been turned on. To prevent compressor overload the unit will start
after 3 minutes.
If the operation lamp and the „pre def indicator or fan only indicator
light up, it means you have chosen heat mode.
Symptom 2: Changing to fan mode during cooling
mode
Once the indoor unit has achieved it's desired temperature, the
unit will automatically switch to fan mode and circulate air. (This
is to prevent the indoor unit frosting) When the temperature rises
above the desired set point, the unit will automatically switch back
to cooling mode.
Symptom 3: White mist comes out of a unit
Symptom 3.1: Indoor unit
When humidity is high during cooling mode, the indoor unit can
become contaminated and dirty. Ensure the indoor unit gets cleaned
by a qualified personal. This operation requires qualified personnel.
Symptom 3.2: Indoor unit, outdoor unit
When the system has changed over to heating after defrosting mode,
moisture generated turns to steam and is exhausted.
Symptom 4: Noises on the air conditioning unit
Symptom 4.1: Indoor unit
When the unit is running, a low humming noise will be apparent until
the unit has stopped.
When the drain pump (optional accessories) is in operation, a noise
will be heard.
When the system stops after heating, the system will encounter a
noise whilst the refrigerant settles down. Expansion valves shut down
and refrigerant gets trapped in the system.

Symptom 4.2: Indoor unit, outdoor unit
A continuous low hissing sound is heard when the system is in
operation.
This is the sound of refrigerant gas flowing through both the indoor
and outdoor units.
A ‚hissing' sound will be apparent when the unit starts and stops.
This is the noise of refrigerant.
Symptom 4.3: Outdoor unit
When the tone of the operating noise changes.
This noise is caused by the change in frequency.
Symptom 5: Dust comes out of the unit
When the system is not used for long periods, you may find dust that
has settled in the unit discharges first.
Symptom 6: The units can give off odours
Household smells can adhere to the units, cleaning the filters during
service will improve this.

During operation. The speed of the fan is controlled in order to
optimise product operation.
