ASSUMPTION
Technicians should be aware that individ-
ual parts within a machine may have cer-
tain handling risks. Items such as springs
or snap rings can fly from one location to
another. If heavy parts are dropped, they
can cause injuries to the foot. Technicians
should be aware of these potential risks
and take any necessary precaution to
guard against injury. This would include
the use of PPE (Personal Protective
Equipment) such as safety glasses and
steel-toed work boots. If you are unsure
about the risks or hazards of working with
machines or within your shop, consult
your supervisor.
