• The system board is sensitive to and can be damaged by ESD. Before touching it, establish personal
grounding by touching a ground point with one hand or by using an ESD strap (P/N 6405959).

Disabling the built-in battery

Before replacing any FRU, ensure that you disable the built-in battery.
To disable the built-in battery, press
together with the power button for about five seconds, and at the
same time detach the ac power adapter from the Chromebook.
Note: Power supply from the built-in battery will resume after you reconnect the Chromebook to the ac
power adapter.

Removing the nano-SIM card and the nano-SIM-card tray

Some models you are servicing might have a nano-SIM card installed. If the Chromebook you are servicing
has a nano-SIM card installed, remove the nano-SIM card and the nano-SIM-card tray before you start the
servicing.
After you finish the servicing, ensure that you install the card and the tray back into the slot firmly.
