8. Remove the M.2 solid-state drive. "M.2 solid-state drive" on page 71.
9. Remove the Wi-Fi card. "Wi-Fi card" on page 72.
10. Record the cable routing and cable connections, and then disconnect all cables from the system board.
See "System board" on page 56.
11. Remove eight screws that secure the system board, and then carefully lift the system board out of the
middle frame.
Note: Carefully handle the system board by its edges.
12. Install the new system board into the middle frame by aligning the eight holes in the new system board
with the corresponding mounting studs on the middle frame. Then, install the screws to secure the new
system board.
13. Reinstall all parts that you have removed one by one in the reversed sequence as you remove them.
Refer to the information that you have noted down and the related topics in "Removing and installing
hardware" on page 57.
14. Connect all cables to the new system board. See "System board" on page 56.
15. Reconnect all disconnected cables to the computer and reconnect the power cord to the electric outlet.

Coin-cell battery

Prerequisite
Before you start, read Chapter 1 "Important safety information" on page 1 and print the following
instructions.
Before you open the computer cover, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the computer is
cool.
Your computer has a special type of memory that maintains the date, time, and settings for built-in features,
such as parallel connector assignments (configurations). A coin-cell battery keeps this information active
when you turn off the computer.
