8. Remove the fingerprint reader bracket from the system for the models shipped with a fingerprint reader.
9. Remove the fingerprint reader bracket from the system.
10. Disconnect the fingerprint reader FPC from the I/O daughter-board.
11. Disconnect the speaker cable from the I/O daughter-board.
12. Remove the six screws (M2x4) that secures the I/O daughter-board bridge connector board to palm-rest and keyboard
assembly.
NOTE:
Orient the I/O daughter-board bridge connection board so that the arrows etched on the connector point
upwards when reinstalling it.
13. Remove the bridge connector board from the system.
NOTE:
When re-installing the I/O daughter-board bridge connector board secure the six screws (M2x4) in sequential
order (1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6) marked on the FPC.
14. Remove the three screws (M2x2.5) securing the I/O daughter-board to palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
15. Use a plastic scribe to lift the I/O daughter-board out of its compartment from the gap in its top side and remove it from the
computer.
16. Peel the WWAN thermal pad affixed to the WWAN card compartment and move it to the new I/O daughter-board if you're
replacing the I/O daughter-board for models shipped with 5G WWAN card.
17. Lift and remove the I/O daughter-board from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
NOTE:
The thermal pad sticker adhered onto the WWAN card compartment must be peeled off and transferred over to
the replacement I/O daughter-board.
