These settings are effective on Tape and DVD playback
with closed caption signals only. TVG functions on
broadcast signals or LINE-IN siganals. To operate the
TVG function during DVD playback, your TV must be
capable of closed caption and the caption mode is set
to ON.

TVGuardian
Technology embedded into the VCR will
®
filter foul language from pre-recorded movies which
have CC (Closed Caption). Words detected by TVG
will be muted from the program audio channel, and a
version of the phrase, with the foul language converted
to a suitable replacement word, can be displayed on the
TV screen.
This is accomplished by a process which:
• reads the hidden signals for closed captions,
• detects offensive language,
• momentarily mutes the sound, and
• displays acceptable words and phrases.
TVG not accepting Universal Studio Related software :
• This built-in Foul Language Filter may not work on
some VHS tapes and discs depending on their

God and Jesus. One might want to turn this Word Set
to OFF if watching religious programming material.

TVG CC Mode
The TVG processing allows the user the choice of three
possible settings of CC Mode. By default, the TVG pro-
cessing only displays captions to the user when foul lan-
guage is detected. Other settings are described below.
On Mute : Whenever Foul Language is detected, captions
are displayed with a suitable replacement word substituted
for the foul language, and audio is muted for the foul lan-
guage.
Always: You can see all captions, whether or not any foul
language was detected. But like the ON MUTE mode, cap-
tions are displayed with a suitable replacement word substi-
tuted for the foul language, and audio is muted for the foul
language.
Off (Default): You cannot see captions. Whenever Foul
Language is detected, only audio is muted.
CC Channel (DVD)
To operate the TVG function during DVD, the TVG will block
the foul language when turned on, but your television must
be capable of closed caption and it must be turned on to
get the alternative word on the screen.
Please set "CC Channel (DVD)" to "CC2" when "TVG
Mode" is set to "On". In this case, set "CC2" or "C2
(Closed caption on channel 2) on your TV first.
otes
In case of "TVG Mode" set to "Off", it is impossible for user
to set of Words Subset.
Set "CC Channel (DVD)" to "CC1" when your TV should be
set to CC1.
