Adjusting the Cutting
Height
WARNING
Adjusting the cutting height may bring you
into contact with the blade, causing serious
injury.
• Shut off the engine and wait for all moving
parts to stop.
• Wear gloves while handling the blade.
CAUTION
If the engine has been running, the muffler
will be hot and can severely burn you. Keep
away from the hot muffler.
Adjust the cutting height as desired.
1.
Turn the fuel switch to the off position.
2.
Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.
3.
Tilt the machine on its left side.
4.
Wearing protective gloves, remove the blade
bolt and spacers.
5.
Reposition the spacers to the desired height,
reinstall the blade retainer and spacers
12,), and tighten the bolt to 25 N-m (18 ft-lbs).

The large spacer must be positioned
directly below the impeller at all times.

Starting the Engine

1.
Place the throttle control to the choke position,
ensure that the fuel switch is in the 'On' position.

Hold the engine-shutoff handle against the
handle.
