Location in the Rack The base IBM Cloud Pak for Data System consists of four main components (1G switch, 25G switch, four compute chassis) that are designed to be integrated in the same rack with PDUs. The recommended component placement is shown in the figure below.

Install the enclosure on the slide rails Note: This unit weighs approximately 49lb (22kg). IBM recommends the use of an appropriate lifting device to position the chassis on the rails. Installing the System in a Rack Pull the inner slide rails out of the rack until they lock into place (1). Locate the rear rail standoff on each side of the system and lower them into the rear J-slots on the slide assemblies (2).

IBM INSTALLATION TEAM. Cabling the System Using the CMA (Reference only – Cables to be installed by IBM Personnel) CAUTION: To avoid potential damage from protruding cables, secure any slack in the status indicator cable after routing this cable through the CMA.
Properly shielded and grounded cables and connectors must be used in order to meet FCC emission limits. Proper cables and connectors are available from IBM-authorized dealers. IBM is not responsible for any radio or television interference caused by using other than recommended cables and connectors or by unauthorized changes or modifications to this equipment.
