Location in the Rack The base IBM Cloud Pak for Data System consists of four main components (1G switch, 25G switch, two compute chassis) that are designed to be integrated in the same rack with PDUs. The recommended component placement is shown in Figure 2 below.

Read the Rack safety notices, Pub # G229-9054 included with the unit. C010 - This unit weighs approximately 121.2lb (55kg). IBM recommends the use of an appropriate lifting device to position the chassis on the rails. Rack rail parts inventory The enclosure comes with all of the hardware that is necessary for you to install the enclosure in the rack cabinet.

Install the enclosure on the slide rails C010 - This unit weighs approximately 121.2lb (55kg). IBM recommends the use of an appropriate lifting device to position the chassis on the rails. Server nodes are preconfigured for their specific slots (1, 2, 3 & 4) in the chassis and they must not be removed from the chassis during the chassis installation process.

Tilt and lower the enclosure; then, push the slides toward the enclosure and make sure the farthest nailheads go into the slots on the slides.
Page 28: Install The Cable Management Arm
For these reasons and more, the cable management arms are required. Should you choose not to install the management arms, IBM will not be able to install or support your Cloud Pak for Data System. Should they be removed after installation, you will void your system warranty and onsite service will not be provided.
