IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Do not operate this unit in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
• Do not place the fan on or near an open flame, cooking or heating appliance.
• Avoid contact with moving parts.
• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched.
• The power cord must not present a source of danger to persons or pets.
• Do not operate the fan with a damaged cord or plug, after a malfunction or if dropped or damaged in any way.
• To disconnect, grip the plug and pull from wall outlet. Never yank on the power cord.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualifiedpersonsinordertoavoidhazard.
• The use of attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may be hazardous.
• 
  Do NOT use this fan with any solid state voltage regulator or speed control.
• Always use on a dry, level and stable surface when operating to avoid overturning.
• Do not mount this fan on a table or elevated stand.
• Do not hang or mount the fan on a wall or ceiling.
• Never use the fan improperly assembled or without the guard correctly fitted.
• Do not insert any object into the fan whether the fan is running or not.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• This product is intended solely for household use

ELECTRICAL INFORMATION

The means of disconnecting this appliance from the mains supply is the mains plug. This should be unobstructed and readily operable at all times.

The appliance cord is terminated with a UK approved mains plug fitted with a 3A fuse. If the fuse needs to be replaced, an ASTA or BSI approved BS1362 fuse rated at 3A must be used.

If you need to change the fuse in a non-rewireable plug, the fuse cover must be fitted. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged the appliance must not be used until a suitable cover is obtained and fitted. It is important that the fuse cover fitted corresponds with the colour marking on the base of the plug.

If you need to change the mains plug, remove the fuse and dispose of the old plug safely immediately after cutting it from the cord.

Connecting a Mains Plug

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the code:

Blue: NEUTRAL,
Brown: LIVE

• The wire coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured BLUE or BLACK.
• The wire coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured BROWN or RED.
• Do NOT connect to the terminal marked with the letter E or coloured GREEN or GREEN & YELLOW or marked with the Earth Symbol .

SPECIFICATIONS

Class II construction double insulated. This product must not be connected to earth.

INTRODUCTION

Before using this appliance please read all these notes and instructions carefully and famliarise yourself with the features of your new appliance. In particular, please study the assembly instructions before assembling your tower fan.

UNPACKING

Unpack all the items carefully and remove all plastic wrappings from the component parts.

Check the fan carefully. If any items are damaged or missing, please return the appliance for replacement to the store you purchased it from, or to your nearest Tesco store. Remember to take your receipt.

Retain the packing, or if you decide to dispose of it, make sure that you do so with due regard to any recycling provisions currently in force.

ASSEMBLY

1. For ease of assembly, lay the Fan down so that the front grill and control panel are facing up. Identify the two base sections A and B.
2. Remove the four screws attached to the support pillars in Section A and keep them safe
3. Thread the Power Cord through the centre of the support base section A.
4. Align the two Base sections by interlocking the guides on Base A with the support pillars on Base B. Push them firmly together. (refer to Fig 1 below)
   
5. Attach the four screws screws into the four holes in the pillars at the bottom of the base. Note the position of the power cord. (Figure 2)
   
6. Remove the four screws in the base of the fan column and save them
7. Align the support base assembly with the column support assembly.
   Ensure that the cord channel on the bottom of the support base faces the rear of the fan.
   Ensure that the power cord is routed away from the oscillating mechanism at the base of the fan so that the cord is not damaged and does not prevent the fan from oscillating.
8. Attach the support base assembly to the column support assembly with the four screws.

Place the cord in the wire trough in the base. The power cord is protected by a length of plastic sleeve. Push the cord under the strain relief in the back of the base. The sleeve should protrude just beyond the fan support base.

PLACEMENT

After assembly, stand the fan upright on a solid level floor in a safe location.

SWITCHING ON

The control panel of the fan consists of a Speed Switch, a Timer Control and an Oscillator Button.

The Speed Switch

• 0 switches the fan off.
• 1 selects Low speed
• 2 selects Medium speed
• 3 selects High Speed

The Timer

• The ON setting disables the timer. In this mode thefaniscontrolledbytheSpeed buttons.
• The timer can be set from 0 to 120 minutes. When the time is up, the timer reaches 0 and switches the fan off.

When the timer registers 0 you cannot switch thefanonoroffviathespeedswitch

To operate the fan again:

• Set the Timer to ON or set a new time.

OPERATION

• Ensure the Speed Switch is set to'0'.
• Set the TIMER to ON, or select a time.
• Plug in the fan and switch it on at the mains.
• Now select the desired speed.

OSCILLATION

• Ensure the Speed Switch is set to'0'.
• Set the TIMER to ON, or select a time.
• Plug in the fan and switch it on at the mains.
• Now select the desired speed.

Your fan can oscillate about its axis for better cooling. The oscillator button is located under the Timer Knob and marked with the symbol .

Ensure that the fan can oscillate freely before using this feature.

• To oscillate the fan press the oscillator button in.
• Press and release the Oscillator button again to return to fixed operation..

To change the angle at which the fan operates:

• Press the oscillator button down, allow the fan to reach the desired position and press the oscillator button again to lock the fan in its new position.

CARRYING THE FAN

When moving the fan always ensure that it is switched off and unplugged at the mains point. Carry the fan with one hand in the handgrip at the top rear and the column body in the other.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, switch the fan off and unplug from the mains. The fan column may be cleaned with a mild detergent lightly applied to a damp cloth. Remove all traces of detergent with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly before operating the appliance.

Never spray liquid onto any part of the fan or allow liquids to run into the interior of the appliance.

When not in use, store the appliance away from sources of moisture and heat and where children and pets cannot access the unit.
