Original instructions
1. Declaration of Conformity
We, being solely responsible, hereby declare that
these sanders conform to the standards and direc-
tives specified on page 3.
2. Specified Use
The machine is suitable for dry sanding of flat and
elliptical surfaces, wood, plastics, non-ferrous
metals, sheet metal and similar filled and painted
surfaces.
The user bears sole responsibility for any damage
caused by unspecified use.
Generally accepted accident prevention
regulations and the enclosed safety information
must be observed.
3. General Safety Information
For your own protection and for the
protection of your electrical tool, pay
attention to all parts of the text that are
marked with this symbol!
WARNING – Reading the operating instruc-
tions will reduce the risk of injury.
WARNING Read all safety warnings and
instructions. Failure to follow all safety warn-
ings and instructions may result in electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury.
Keep all safety instructions and information for
future reference.
Pass on your electrical tool only together with these
documents.
4. Special Safety Instructions
Pull the plug out of the plug socket before any
adjustments or servicing are performed.
Wear hearing protection when working for a
longer period of time. High noise levels over a
prolonged period of time may affect your hearing.
Materials that generate dusts or vapours that may
be harmful to health (e.g. asbestos) must not be
processed.
Dust from material such as paint containing lead,
some wood species, minerals and metal may be
harmful. Contact with or inhalation of the dust may
cause allergic reactions and/or respiratory diseases
to the operator or bystanders.
Certain kinds of dust are classified as carcinogenic
such as oak and beech dust especially in
conjunction with additives for wood conditioning
(chromate, wood preservative). Material containing
asbestos must only be treated by specialists.
- Use a dust extractor or the dust collection box
where possible.

- To achieve a high level of dust collection, use a
suitable Metabo vacuum cleaner together with this
tool.
- The work place must be well ventilated.
- The use of a dust mask of filter class P2 is
recommended.
Follow national requirements for the materials you
want to work with.

6. Initial Operation
Before plugging in check to see that the rated
mains voltage and mains frequency, as stated
on the rating label, match with your power supply.
6.1
Installation of sanding disc
Fold up both clamping elements (2). Clamp the
sanding disc to a clamping element. Pull it tightly
over the sanding plate (1) and clamp to the other
clamping element.
7. Use
7.1
Switching on and off
To start the machine, press the trigger (3).
For continuous operation the trigger can be locked
with the lock button (4). To stop the machine, press
the trigger again.
7.2
Dust Extraction
For optimum dust extraction:
Ensure that the holes on the sanding disc are
aligned with the sanding plate extraction holes.
Extraction device:
Remove dust collection box (5) towards the back.
An extraction device can be connected to the
ejection nozzle. Use a suction hose with a
35 mm connector diameter.
Note: When sanding abrasive material (e.g. plaster,
etc.) we recommend connecting a suitable dust
extractor.
8. Cleaning, Maintenance
Empty dust collection box (5).
- Open cleaning flap (6).
