surrounding soil, and can therefore be very
difficult to distinguish from the soil.
CAPS AND CAN RINGS
Caps and rings from drink containers are junk
that is most troublesome for treasure hunters.
They come in many shapes and sizes. Caps and
rings can be eliminated from the detection
process, but then so can some valuable objects
with a similar magnetic signature.
GROUND BALANCING (GND BAL)
This means that the detector is set so that it
does not react to the natural minerals in the
ground. This eliminates false signals and the
detector will then only indicate metal objects.
SURFACE ELIMINATION (SURF ELIM)
This function can improve the precision of the
detector in ground with large amounts of scrap
metal. The function eliminates signals from
scrap metal in the surface layer and balances
the signals from large target objects.
ASSEMBLY
No tools are necessary for the assembly.

1. Fit the search coil on the lower part of the
handle (black fibreglass) and lock in place
with the locking screw.
2. Press in the silver button on the top end
of the lower part of the handle and insert
the lower part in the top part. Stand
upright with the detector in your hand
and the search coil at ground level and
with your arm relaxed at your side to
adjust the handle to the right length.
Tighten the lock ring anticlockwise.
3. Wind the cable to the search coil round
the handle.

4. Put the plug on the cable into the
connection on the control unit.

NOTE:
• Do not overtighten. Do not use a tool to
tighten.
• The plug on the search coil cable can
only be inserted in one way. Do not force
the plug and do not pull the cable to
unplug the plug, this could damage the
machine.
FITTING THE ARM REST
Press in the silver button on the top end of
the lower part of the handle and insert the
aluminium end of the arm rest. Check that the
silver button springs out.

ADJUSTING THE ARM REST

The standard adjustment of the arm rest suits
most people. Persons with very short forearms
(such as children) or very thick forearms may
need to adjust the arm rest.
There are three positions for the arm rest. To
adjust, undo the screw on the underside and
move the arm rest to the required position and
then replace the screw.

BATTERIES
NOTE:
• The machine runs on two 9 V alkaline
batteries (sold separately in Jula's
department store).
• Only use charged batteries of the
recommended type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, or
different types of batteries.
