SAFETY

  • This device is designed for the playback of audio signals. Any other use is expressly prohibited.
  • Protect the device from moisture (water drops or splashes). Do not place any vessels such as vases on the device. These may be knocked over and spill fluid on the electrical components, thus presenting a safety risk. Do not place any naked flames such as candles on the device.
  • Make sure the device is adequately ventilated. Do not cover the ventilation slots with newspapers, table cloths, curtains, etc.
  • When deciding where to place the device, please note that furniture surfaces are covered by various types of varnish and plastic, most of which contain chemical additives. These additives can corrode the device supports, leaving residues on the furniture surfaces which can be difficult or impossible to remove.
  • Do not use any cleaning agent, as this may damage the casing. Clean the device with a clean, moist leather cloth. Never open the device casing. The manufacturer will not accept any liability for damage resulting from improper handling.
  • The type plate is located on the bottom of the device.

OVERVIEW

Controls on the top

SNOOZE Interrupts the alarm function. Stops the sleep timer.
TIME Press and hold down to activate the time setting.
ALARM Press and hold down to activate the alarm setting.
Press briefly to cancel the alarm standby.
Displays the alarm time (in standby mode).
HOUR For setting the hours.
Press briefly to change the hour step-by-step.
Hold down to change the hour continuously.
MIN For setting the minutes.
Press briefly to change the minutes step-by-step.
Hold down to change the minutes continuously.
SLEEP Activates the sleep timer.

Controls on the sides

The slide switch on the left side of the device switches the radio on or to standby.
In alarm mode, it switches between the signal tone and the radio station; cancels the alarm standby.
Adjusts the volume (on right side of device).
Control dial For tuning to radio stations (on right side of device).
FM • • MW FM and MW frequency band switch (for Sonoclock 360), on right side of device.
FM • • LW FM and LW frequency band switch (for Sonoclock 360 L), on right side of device.

Controls on the back

Mains cable.
Wire antenna for FM reception.
The device has a built-in antenna for MW reception (Sonoclock 360) or LW reception (Sonoclock 360 L). Turn the device around to direct the antenna.

Controls on the bottom

Battery compartment for back-up battery.

The display

LED. Indicates that the alarm setting is activated.
Displays the time, the alarm time and the sleep timer time.

Power supply

Mains operation

Check that the mains voltage on the type plate (on the bottom of the device) corresponds to your local mains supply. If this is not the case, contact your specialist dealer.

  1. Plug the mains cable into the socket (230V~, 50 Hz).

    The device is connected to the mains with the power plug. To fully disconnect the device from the mains, pull out the plug.
    The mains plug is used to disconnect the device. It shall remain readily operable and should not be obstructed during intended use.

Inserting the back-up battery

During mains operation, the back-up battery ensures that stored settings are not lost in the case of a power failure or when the device is briefly disconnected from the mains.

  1. Open the battery compartment by pressing the area market with arrows on the drawing and pushing down the cover.
  2. When inserting the battery (9 V, 6LF 22), observe the polarity marked on the base of the battery compartment.
    Note:
    Remove the back-up battery when it is flat or when you know that the device will not be used for a long period of time.

OPERATION

Setting the clock

When you switch on the device for the first time, the time flashes in the display to indicate that you must set the clock. The same thing applies after a power failure, or if the device has been plugged out and no back-up battery is inserted.

  1. Press and hold down »TIME«.
  2. Press »HOUR« briefly to set the hours step-by-step or hold it down to run through the hours quickly.
  3. Press »MIN« briefly to set the minutes step-by-step or hold it down to run through the minutes quickly.
    Note:
    When the minute display changes from »59« to »00«, this does not affect the hour display.
  4. Release »TIME« to conclude the setting.

Setting the alarm time

  1. Press and hold down »ALARM«.
  2. Press »HOUR« briefly to set the hours step-by-step or hold it down to run through the hours quickly.
  3. Press »MIN« briefly to set the minutes step-by-step or hold it down to run through the minutes quickly.
  4. Release »ALARM« to conclude the setting.
  5. Use the » « slide switch (left side of device) to set the alarm signal you require (»« = radio station » « = signal tone).
    • Display: the »« LED lights up, i.e. the alarm setting is activated.
    • The device switches on at the set alarm time with the selected alarm signal.

Switching on and off

  1. Use »« to switch the device on.
  2. Use »« to switch the device to standby.

Radio operation

For the best FM (VHF) reception, it is sufficient to direct the wire antenna accordingly.

Tuning radio stations

  1. Set the frequency band with »FM • • MW« (Sonoclock 360) or »FM • • LW« (Sonoclock 360 L) on the right side of the device.
  2. Find and tune the station using the control dial (right side of device).

Adjusting the volume

  1. Adjust the volume using » « (right side of device).

Alarm mode

Displaying the alarm time

  1. Press and hold down »ALARM«.
    • Display: the last alarm time set.
  2. Release »ALARM«.
    • Display: the current time.

Alarm with radio station

  1. Use »« to switch on the device.
  2. Set the frequency band with »FM • • MW« (Sonoclock 360) or »FM • • LW« (Sonoclock 360 L) on the right side of the device.
  3. Find and tune the station using the control dial (right side of device).
  4. Set the alarm volume using »«.
  5. Select the radio alarm (»«) with »« (left side of device).
    • The radio switches on at the set alarm time (alarm duration 1 hour 59 minutes).

Alarm with signal tone

  1. Select the signal tone alarm (» «) with »« (left side of device).
    • The signal tone switches on at the set alarm time (alarm duration 1 hour 59 minutes).

Interrupting the alarm

  1. Press »SNOOZE« while the alarm is sounding.
    • The alarm (signal tone or radio) stops.
    • The alarm goes on again at 9-minute intervals (the total alarm time is 1 hour and 59minutes).

Cancelling the alarm for the day

  1. Press »ALARM« while the alarm is sounding.
    • The alarm (signal tone or radio) stops, but the alarm function remains activated for the next day at the set time.

Cancelling/activating alarm stand-by

  1. Switch »« (left side of device) to »« (standby) to cancel the alarm function.
    • Display: The »« LED goes out.
    • The set alarm time is saved.
  2. Switch »« (left side of device) from »« (standby) to »« or » « to activate the alarm function.
    • Display: The »« LED lights up.

Timer mode

The device possesses a sleep timer, which it switches off in radio mode at a preset time. It is possible to set the switch-off time for between 1 minute and 1 hour 59 minutes.

Switching on the sleep timer

  1. Press »SLEEP« to switch on the device.
    • Display: The switch-off time »0:59« (59 minutes).
    • You will hear the selected radio station.
  2. To set the switch-off time, press and hold down »SLEEP«.
  3. Press »HOUR« briefly to extend the switch-off time to 1 hour 59 minutes (»1:59«).
  4. Press »MIN« step-by-step or hold it down to set the minutes (between »59« and »00«).
  5. Release »SLEEP« to conclude the setting.
    • After the selected switch-off time has elapsed, the device switches off automatically.

Switching off the sleep timer

  1. To switch off the sleep timer before the set time, press »SNOOZE«.
    • The device switches off.
