OTHER FEATURES
Picture Search Options
The most basic wa y to search during playback is using the FOR WARD
and REVERSE buttons. This section contains several other options
available for searching a tape.
Forward and REVERSE Search
You can search a tape during pla yback. Sound is turned off during
picture search. Search works best for tapes recorded at the SP or SLP
speed.
1. Pr ess FOR WARD to sear ch forward or REVERSE to sear ch in
reverse.
2. Pr ess FOR WARD or REVERSE a gain or press PLA Y to return to
normal playback.
SLOW MOTION
You can view a tape in slow motion from the play-pause mode. Slow
motion works best for tapes recorded at the SP or SLP speed.
1. Pr ess FOR WARD or REVERSE to begin slo w-motion playback
when tape is paused.
2. Pr ess FOR WARD to incr ease or REVERSE to decr ease the speed of
slow motion.
3. Use TRACKING up or down to remove any streaks from
the picture.
4. Pr ess PLA Y to return to normal playback.
The VCR switches automatically from slow-motion playback to
stop after a few minutes.
Commercial Scan (Search Button)
This is useful for skipping commercials or short program segments.
•
Press SEARCH once during playback to advance the tape
approximately 60 seconds of recorded material.
•
Press SEARCH twice during playback to advance the tape
approximately 120 seconds of recorded material.

Insert Tape
Don't forget to insert a recorded
tape when using the search features.
