How to Make Coffee
![]()
To avoid hot coffee overflowing from the Brew Basket:
- When using decaffeinated coffee, do not exceed the coffee manufacturer's recommended serving amount.
- Press firmly on lid to ensure the lid is completely closed.
If Brew Basket overflow occurs, unplug Coffeemaker and allow coffee in Brew Basket to cool before removing Brew Basket.
- Wash unit before use. See "Care and Cleaning."
- Place a 4-to 6-cup cone-style (#2) paper filter in the Brew Basket. Ensure the filter is fully inserted into the Brew Basket. The coffee filter should be folded along the crimp on the sides and bottom for proper placement. This will prevent the filter from collapsing during brewing.
- For each cup of coffee being made, place one level tablespoon of coffee into filter; close Brew Basket. Make sure it is fully closed.
- Fill carafe with the desired amount of cold tap water. Carafe holds 25 ounces (750 ml) when filled to the bottom of spout.
- Pour water from Carafe into Water Reservoir.
- Place Carafe, with carafe lid attached, on Keep-Hot Plate.
- Turn Switch to ON (
). When finished, turn Switch to OFF (
) and unplug.
