6. Most devices will show the Com port next to the device name.
c. Start HyperTerminal
On Windows 2000, click on:
Start>Programs>Accessories>Communications>HyperTerminal

Record this number. In this case, it is COM12.
Note: Make sure there is no "!" or "X" next to the USB
device. If you see an "!" or an "X," the device is not properly
installed and will not work.
