Heating off. LED off. No response to pilot relighting steps. Unit less than 2 years old. No previous problems. I’m the homeowner. What’s my next appropriate step?

If the Bradford White ECO-DEFENDER Series water heater has no heating, the LED is off, and the pilot will not stay lit, the gas control is not powered. First, try to relight the pilot. If the pilot assembly is not lit and the problem persists, replace the pilot assembly. If the issue continues after replacing the pilot assembly, replace the gas control.

To adjust the water temperature to be hotter on the Bradford White ECO-DEFENDER Model # URG250T6N, follow these steps:

1. Locate the Gas Control Knob – It is typically on the front of the water heater.
2. Turn the Knob – Rotate the gas control knob to a higher temperature setting.
3. Measure the Water Temperature – Draw approximately 4 gallons of water from the drain valve, discard it, then draw an additional gallon and measure the temperature with an accurate thermometer.
4. Compare the Temperature – Ensure the measured temperature does not differ by more than 10°F from the gas control setting.
5. Adjust if Necessary – If the temperature is still too low, slightly increase the setting and recheck.

Be cautious not to set the temperature too high to avoid scalding risks.
