The OG-3 Ozone Source may be utilized for calibration verification and approximate field calibration of Eco Sensors instruments. It
utilizes a precision UV micro-lamp that emits 0.1 ppm or 1.0 ppm of ozone (specify when ordering). The ozone output level is
marked on the OG-3. The OG-3 is useful for checking instruments in the field to verify their response to ozone. The OG-3 may also
be used for approximate field calibration of instruments. However, a field calibration with the OG-3 does not substitute for a
laboratory calibration and is not NIST-traceable. If a NIST-traceable laboratory calibration is desired or required for your Eco
Sensors instrument, please contact us at (800) 472-6626 or e-mail at sales@ecosensors.com.
Place the OG-3 and ozone sensing instrument on a flat surface in a room free of air currents and extraneous gases and chemical
vapors, including but not limited to VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
Connect the AC adapter to the OG-3. The fan will run and the blue light of the UV lamp is visible through the 10 mm hole on the side
of the instrument. If the fan is not running, ensure the power source is 12 VDC with a minimum current capacity of 300 mA. If the fan
is running but the lamp is not operating, contact your distributor or Eco Sensors for further assistance.
Allow both the OG-3 and ozone sensing instrument to warm up (unconnected and separated by at least 12 in) for at least
30 minutes.
Insert the sensor of the ozone sensing instrument into the 10 mm hole in the side of the OG-3 (See illustration below).
The ozone sensing instrument should respond within 1 minute and the reading will climb to a steady value. Typically, after 3
minutes, the ozone sensing instrument will stabilize and the instrument reading may be noted. Do not leave the ozone sensing
instrument connected to the OG-3 for more than 4 minutes. The OG-3 should be disconnected from its power source when not in
use to prolong the lamp life.
The UV lamp in the OG-3 should show stable and constant output for approximately 500 hours of use. Contact your distributer or
Eco Sensors for a UV lamp replacement and/or recalibration.
