The wheelchair shall be forward-facing when you use it as a seat in a vehicle.
Permobil has no manufacturer-designated wheelchair-mounted belt
restraints. Use the vehicle's restraint systems.
You must use both pelvic-belt restraints and shoulder-belt restraints. Pelvic-
and shoulder-belt restraints should be used together as designed.
Make sure that the belt restraints are as tight as possible, without becoming
uncomfortable, and that they are not twisted. They must be close to your body
and not held away by parts of the wheelchair. Adjust your restraint system
such that the release mechanisms cannot be pressed during a crash.
The shoulder-belt restraint should be worn over the middle of the shoulder.
The pelvic-belt restraint should be in contact with and worn low across the
pelvis and within the preferred zone of 30° to 75°. A steeper pelvic-belt angle
between 45° to 75° to the horizontal is preferred. Make sure that the
wheelchair is not lifted or tilted. The wheelchair must be in the position shown
in the image.
