    External Interfaces • For instructions on how to connect to other devices, always refer to the “GP-Pro EX Device/PLC Connection Manual”. • Always connect the #5 SG (Signal Ground) of the GP unit to the connected device, especially if the connected device is also not isolated. Failure to do so may damage the RS232C/RS422/RS485 circuit.

    • Be sure to ground the surge absorber (E1) separately from the GP unit (E2).
