8.￿ Maintenance of the indoor unit
The indoor unit requires only minimum maintenance. The device does not contain components that require maintenance
by the user. Use only a damp cloth to clean its surface. Take extra care when the device is in operation and powered. We
recommend performing maintenance on the indoor unit outside the heating/cooling season in the non-powered state.
We recommend having the entire heat pump inspected regularly once a year by a service technician of the installation
company.
8.￿ Maintenance of the DHW tank
To maintain the correct and, above all, ef￿cient operation of the DHW tank, check the sediment content in the tank at
least once every ￿ years. Once every two years (once a year for stainless steel tanks), also check the condition of the anode
rod and replace it if necessary.
8.￿.￿ Tank desludging
By repeatedly heating the water, dirt and minerals settle inside the tank. These substances can be cleaned by ￿ushing
with pressurized water through the cold water inlet neck or through the drain neck. This cleaning must be performed once a
year after the tank is put into operation. Users whose water contains an increased amount of calcium, salt and magnesium
should perform this cleaning once every six months.
8.￿.￿ Heater medium disinfection
The tank is designed and adapted to ensure thermal disinfection of the inlet medium in the temperature range indicated
on the tank nameplate. Chemical disinfection and dosing of cleaning and disinfecting agents or other substances of a similar
nature are prohibited. The tank is not designed and adapted to dispense or mix these chemicals. The chemical disinfectant
dosing device must be connected downstream of the tank to the circulation piping or to another tank designated for mixing
or dosing. The dosed chemical must always enter the tank uniformly mixed with the medium, not in concentrated form or in
insuf￿ciently mixed form.
8.￿.￿ Protection against galvanic and electrolytic corrosion
Every stainless steel tank contains protection against galvanic and electrolytic corrosion. It is either passive protection
(magnesium anode rod – contained in every stainless steel vessel as standard) or active protection (electronic anti-corrosion
system – ACES).
