Rotate the brake-linkage shaft until the end

Belt Maintenance

Inspecting the Belts

Service Interval: Every 50 hours
Replace the belt if it is worn. The signs of a worn belt
include squealing while the belt is rotating; the blades
slipping while cutting grass; and frayed edges, burn
marks, and cracks on the belt.

Replacing the Mower Belt

1.
Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch (PTO), and engage the
parking brake.
2.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3.
Lower the mower to the 76 mm (3 inch) height
of cut.

Remove the belt covers
5.
Remove the spring tension from the
spring-loaded idler pulley. Refer to
Note:
Use the spring removal tool (Toro Part
No. 92-5771) to remove the spring from the
mower-deck post
6.
Remove the belt from the mower-deck pulleys
and the clutch pulley.

Install the new belt around the mower pulleys
and the clutch pulley under the engine
