3 Product Overview

3.1 Intended Use
Invacare Basica H330/1 is a powder-coated steel grab bar to
be installed on wall surfaces with screws. It can be flipped up
and includes a toilet paper holder. This product is intended
to be used as a transfer and support aid when e.g. sitting
down and standing up from a toilet seat.
Indication
If used without an assistant, the users must be able to keep
their own balance. There are no contraindications known
when using the product as intended. For the maximum user
weight, see 7 Technical Data, page 3 .
3.2 Scope of Delivery
The scope of delivery is shown in figure 1.

– Mount only to walls with sufficient load bearing
capacity.
1. With the user standing upright, without shoes, measure
the height of the thumb's upper joint. This height
corresponds to the grab bar's highest point.
2. Mark out the location of the holes on the wall taking
into account the previously measured height.
3. Drill and insert four plugs appropriate for the type of
wall.
4. Fix the grab bar to the wall using the screws and
washers.
5. Flip the product up and down as required, grip the bar
and carry out the desired body movement.

5 Maintenance

5.1 General Maintenance Information
This product is maintenance-free, provided that the cleaning
and disinfection instructions are adhered to.
5.2 Cleaning and Disinfection

Risk of Contamination
– Take precautions for yourself and use
appropriate protective equipment.
NOTICE!
Wrong fluids or methods can harm or damage
the product.
– All cleaning agents and disinfectants used must
be effective, compatible with one another and
must protect the materials they are used to
clean.
– Never use corrosive fluids (alkalines, acid etc.)
or abrasive cleaning agents. We recommend
an ordinary household cleaning agent such as
dishwashing liquid.
– Never use a solvent (cellulose thinner, acetone
etc.) that changes the structure of the plastic
or dissolves the attached labels.
For cleaning and disinfection in clinical or long-term
care environments, follow your in-house procedures.
Cleaning Intervals
NOTICE!
Regular cleaning and disinfection enhances
smooth operation, increases the service life and
prevents contamination.
Clean and disinfect the product:
– before first use,
– regularly while it is in use,
– when it has been in contact with any body
fluids.
Cleaning
NOTICE!
Maximum cleaning temperature:
– 60 °C by hand
1. Clean the product by wiping down all generally accessible
surfaces.
2. Dry the parts with a cloth.
