SGM Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is my gain reduced?
A: If the AGC/Plosive Control is set to a high level
you may need to increase your mixer gain.
Q: Why does the mic turn off too soon?
A: You may need to increase the IR Time setting
and then the IR Range setting to get the right IR
Gate performance for your application.
Q: Can I get the mic to shut off sooner?
A: Yes, you can decrease the IR Time to the fastest
setting - 5 seconds. You can also try reducing the
IR Range to the closest setting - 3 feet. See pages 5
and 9 for more information.
Q: Why is the IR sensor not affecting the mic?
A: Check your IR Range settings and make sure
you have not disabled the IR sensor. See pages 5
and 9 for more information.
Q: Why is the red LED staying on or flashing?
A: This can occur when there is insufficient phantom
power. Check your mixer and make sure it supplies
industry-standard 48V phantom power.
