CONTROLS AND FEATURES
Runners
Check and adjust runners (see Service and
Adjustments ). Allow 1/8" (3mm) between scraper blade
and hard, smooth surface(s). Allow 1-1/4" (30mm)
between scraper blade and uneven surface(s).
Chute Deflector
Discharge Chute
DANGER: DO NOT put hands or feet near
rotating parts. Keep clear of discharge
opening at all times.
Push chute crank forward to unlock. Turn crank to
desired discharge direction. Pull crank back to lock
discharge chute in position.
Torque Limiter
The torque limiter prevents damage to gear box by
slipping if an object jams auger.
IMPORTANT: Any tendency to stop or slow throwing of
snow indicates foreign object in auger. Disengage
attachment and stop unit immediately. Stop engine,
remove key and clear auger before continuing
operation.
The torque limiter has been pre-set at factory. If after
extended use excessive slip is noticed, adjust per
Service and Adjustments.
PRE-START
Refer to tractor Owner's Manual for tractor pre-starting
and operation.
Lower Sno-Thro attachment before starting engine.
STARTING AND SHUT OFF
Refer to tractor Owner's/Operator Manual for tractor
starting and shut off.
IMPORTANT: Check impeller to ensure it is not frozen.
Engage attachment with engine running at part throttle.
The impeller is frozen if belts squeal. If impeller is
frozen, move unit to a heated area to thaw.
1. With engine running, set engine speed at 1/3
throttle.
2. Engage PTO.
3. Set engine speed to full throttle after auger and
impeller are rotating.
NOTE: Full throttle is recommended whenever
throwing snow.
While operating Sno-Thro, attachment lift lever should
be placed all the way forward in its "FLOAT" position.
IMPORTANT: Run attachment a few minutes after
throwing snow to prevent freeze-up of auger/impeller.
