BASIC ENGINE MAINTENANCE
See Table 4 below for a general inspection and maintenance checklist. For more detailed maintenance, refer to the engine
service manual.
Frequency
Check Sump Oil Level/Coolant Leaks
Check Fuel Filter
Check Dust in Air Cleaner
Check for Leaks/Visual Walk Around
Check for Loosening of Parts
Check Fuel Pipes and Clamp Bands
Check Fan Belt Tightness
Check Radiator Hoses and Clamp Bands
Check Intake Air Line
Clean Water Separator in Fuel Tank
Clean Fuel Filter
Clean Air Cleaner Element
Clean Water Jacket (Radiator Interior)
Replace Engine Oil (initial & thereafter)
Replace Filter Cartridge (initial & thereafter)
Replace Fuel Filter
Replace Air Cleaner
Replace Fan Belt
* — low use: every six months
GENERAL INSPECTION
When performing any maintenance on the light tower
or engine, follow all safety messages and rules for safe
operation stated at the beginning of this manual.
Prior to each use, the light tower should be cleaned and
inspected for deficiencies. Check for loose, missing or
damaged nuts, bolts or other fasteners. Also check for
fuel or oil leaks.
WARNING
Accidental starts can cause severe injury or death.
ALWAYS place the ON/OFF switch in the OFF position.
Disconnect negative battery cable from battery before
servicing.

WARNING
Some maintenance operations
may require the engine to be run.
Ensure that the maintenance area
is well ventilated. Exhaust contains
poisonous carbon monoxide gas
that can cause unconsciousness and
may result in DEATH.
CAUTION
ALWAYS allow the engine to cool
before servicing. NEVER attempt any
maintenance work on a hot engine.
