• Any user-made changes or manipulations of the device are prohibited!
Only the manufacturer or an expert for explosion protection are
authorized to modify the device.
• Before re-using a TZIDC-210 positioner that has already been used in
another installation place always reset the device to the factory setting.
Never start the autoadjustment function before having restored the
factory setting! Otherwise, hazardous situations may occur due to
improper settings.
• Do not use the internal communication interface (X5) on the
motherboard when the TZIDC-210 positioner is installed and used in
the hazardous area.
• The (optional) safety shutdown module must be subject to a functional
test every two years at the latest. Follow the instructions in chapter
3.5.1.
TZIDC-210 positioners of explosion protection
• Do not open a TZIDC-210 positioner installed and run in a hazardous
area directly upon switch-off. Always wait for at least five minutes.
Otherwise, some components inside the housing may still be hot and
cause an explosion.
• Do not use flammable gas nor oxygen or oxygen-enriched gas as a
pressure medium.
• Do not use variants which according to the certificate comply with type
of protection "intrinsic safety" intrinsically safe once they have been
used in type of protection "flameproof enclosure".
• Handle the cover with care. Otherwise, the sealing surface may be
damaged. This will void the explosion protection (Ex d). Place the
removed cover on clean, even surfaces, only! Avoid any pollution of the
sealing surface.
• Secure the cable entry against turning and loosening by using security
adhesive of medium strength (see chapter 3.3.4, page 23).
• If the positioner is used at an ambient temperature above 60 °C
(140 °F) or below -20 °C (-4 °F), use cable entries and cables
approved for a service temperature corresponding to the maximum
ambient temperature increased by 10 K or corresponding to the
minimum ambient temperature, respectively.
