Inductive pickup. RPM measurement for automotive engines up to 8 cylinders.

function and range.

SWITCH POSITIONS (FIG.1).
1. 'OFF'
2. x10 (Stroke (4) RPM): For RPM of 4-stroke engines which have 1 ignition on every 2
revolutions.
3. x1 (Stroke (4) RPM): For RPM of 4-stroke engines which have 1 ignition on every 2
revolutions.
4. x10 (Stroke (2) RPM): For RPM of DIS (Distributor-less Ignition System) and 2 -stroke
engines which have 1 ignition on every 1 revolution.
5. x1 (Stroke (2) RPM): For RPM of DIS (Distributor-less Ignition System) and 2 -stroke
engines which have 1 ignition on every 1 revolution.
6. 'HOLD' button.
4.
OPERATION
4.1. Select a suitable RPM range with the function switch (see
switch positions above).
" WARNING! Potential Shock Hazard:
HT leads produce high voltages. If the leads appear worn or
cracked; replace them. Avoid inadvertently touching the
leads. Turn engine off before connecting or removing the
inductive pickup.
4.2. Clamp the inductive pickup over a spark plug HT lead and
start the vehicle, If no reading is observed, stop the vehicle,
unhook the clamp, turn it over and connect again. Re-start
the vehicle and check reading.
Note: Position the pickup to within six inches of the spark plug or
move it to another plug HT lead if no reading or an erratic reading
is obtained.
4.3. If the '
' symbol appears, the battery should be replaced.
Remove the screw on the battery cover. Replace the battery
and reinstall the battery cover and screw.
