Cause/solution
R The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer.
R The base unit's AC adaptor is not properly connected. Reconnect
AC adaptor to the base unit.
R The handset is not registered to the base unit. Register it
(page 38).
R Activating eco mode reduces the range of the base unit in standby
mode. If required, turn eco mode off (page 16).
R You are using the handset or base unit in an area with high
electrical interference. Re-position the base unit and use the
handset away from sources of interference.
R Move closer to the base unit.
R If you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a
DSL/ADSL filter between the base unit and the telephone line
jack. Contact your DSL/ADSL provider for details.
R You have registered a handset that is not recommended (page 4).
The clearest sound quality is only possible by registering the
recommended handset.
R The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust ringer volume (page 18,
30).
R Do not disturb mode is turned on. Turn it off (page 34).
R The dialling mode may be set incorrectly. Change the setting
(page 16).
R You dialled a call restricted number (page 37).
R The key lock feature is turned on. Turn it off (page 21).
Cause/solution
R You must subscribe to a Caller ID service. Contact your phone
service provider for details.
R If your unit is connected to any additional telephone equipment,
remove and plug the unit directly into the wall jack.
R If you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a
DSL/ADSL filter between the base unit and the telephone line
jack. Contact your DSL/ADSL provider for details.
R Other telephone equipment may be interfering with this unit.
Disconnect the other equipment and try again.
R Depending on your phone service provider, the unit may display
the caller's information at the 2nd ring or later. Set the first ring to
"Off" (page 30).
R Move closer to the base unit.
R Incorrect time information from incoming Caller ID changes the
time. Set the time adjustment to "Manual" (off) (page 30).
