Follow the instructions: • If the trunk is supported along its length it can be sawn from above (top cut). (SEE FIG. 21) • If the trunk is supported in one end, it should be sawn in two steps. • First cut one third of the diameter of the trunk from underneath to prevent splitting. Then saw from the top to meet the rst cut and avoid the bar getting clamped.

CHECKING THE CHAIN LUBRICATION Do not use the chain saw without adequate lubrication of the chain, this will wear out the chain quicker. 1. Check the oil level in the tank. 2. Start the chain saw. 3. Run the chain when holding the bar about 15 cm over a suitable surface for 15 seconds. If the chain lubrication is working properly there should be splashing of oil on the surface.
