The cooktop should be slightly below the work
surface. On tiled worktops, the contact surfaces
can be raised, if necessary, with temperature-
and water-resistant rails.
Check that the appliance works correctly and is in
2.
the correct position.
10
Fill the gap between the work surface and the cook-
3.
top using a suitable commercially available silicone
adhesive.
Smooth the silicone adhesive with a spatula or a fin-
ger wetted with soap before a solid layer forms.
Note: Leave the silicone adhesive to dry before you
use the appliance.
Tip: If you use an unsuitable silicone adhesive on nat-
ural stone work surfaces, it may cause discolouration
that can no longer be removed. A suitable adhesive is
available from our technical customer service.
2.7 Electrical connection
Follow the instructions for electrical connection.
¡ An electrical 10 amp socket needs to be within 1 m
of the hotplate to allow electrical connection. The
socket must remain accessible after installation of
the appliance.
¡ This appliance is connected to the mains (240 VAC)
by means of the connecting lead. The connecting
lead must be fixed to the kitchen unit to prevent it
from coming into contact with hot parts of the cook-
top or an oven installed underneath and remain ac-
cessible after installation of the cooktop.
¡ This appliance must be earthed. When connecting
the cooktop ensure that the earth wire is connected
first and that all wires are connected to the correct
terminals.
