Air Frying Tips
- Air frying crisps and browns by powerfully circulating hot air around food. Little to no added oil is needed for prepared foods.
- Foods may need to be flipped, stirred, or rotated during cooking. Cooking times are suggestions. Cook food until crisp and golden brown.
- The heating element in Air Fryer is on top. Most foods need to be flipped, stirred, or rotated during cooking.
- For best results, arrange foods in a single, even layer in Air Fryer.
- Delicate foods such as fish and handbreaded items should be cooked in a single, even layer.
- Sturdier foods such as frozen French fries, chicken nuggets and chicken tenders can be piled into Air Fryer but will need to be turned and rotated during cooking.
- Avoid overfilling Air Fryer so air flows around food to improve crispness. No more than half-full is a good guide.
- When cooking heavy foods such as a whole chicken, lift food out of pan using metal forks or tongs.
- Check food for doneness before recommended packaging cook times. Add more time if needed desired crispness/ doneness.
- Cut uniform-sized pieces for even cooking results.
- A light spritz of cooking oil before cooking helps with browning and crisping of foods such as fresh vegetables.
- Breadcrumbs make crunchy air fried coatings. Avoid sauces or batters.
- Do not line Removable Crisping Insert; that blocks air flow.
- Vegetables need a little oil to brown or a crumb coating to be crispy. To brown fresh vegetables more, add oil, increase temperature and shorten cooking time. To add a crisp coating, dip in egg wash, coat with bread crumbs and cook until crisp.
