Locat ing a disc by nam e
— List-up (For a CD unit w ith the custom
file function or an M D unit)
You can use this function for discs that have
been assigned a custom name. For more
information on disc names, refer to "Labeling a
CD" (page 17).

Press (LIST) .
The name assigned to the current disc
appears in the display.
When you assign a disc memo label to a
CD TEXT disc, it takes priority over the
original CD TEXT information.

Press (LIST) repeatedly until you find the
desired disc.

Press (5) (ENTER) to play the disc.
Notes
• Af t er a disc name has been displayed f or f ive
seconds, t he display ret urns t o normal playback
mode. To t urn of f t he display, press
• The t rack names are not displayed during M D or
CD TEXT disc playback.
• If t here are no discs in t he magazine, " NO DISC"
appears in t he display.
• If a disc has not been assigned a cust om f ile,
" ********" appears in t he display.
• If t he disc inf ormat ion has not been read by t he
unit , " NOT READ" appears in t he display. To load
a disc, f irst press t he number but t on, t hen choose
t he disc t hat has not been loaded.
• There are also some let t ers w hich cannot be
displayed (during M D or CD TEXT disc playback).

If you label the disc, you can set the unit to
skip or play the tracks of your choice.

Start playing the disc and press (SHIFT) ,
then press (3) (PLAY M ODE) for tw o
seconds.

Note
If you have not labeled t he disc, t he bank edit
mode does not appear. To go back t o normal
playback mode, press (SHIFT).

Push the SEEK/ AM S control up or dow n
to select the track number you w ant to
skip and press (5) (ENTER).
The indication changes from "PLAY" to
"SKIP." To return the indication to
"PLAY," press (5) (ENTER) again.

Repeat step 2 to set "PLAY" or "SKIP" for
all the tracks.

Press (3) (PLAY M ODE) for tw o seconds.
The unit returns to normal CD playback
mode.

Press (SHIFT) .
Notes
• You can set " PLAY" or " SKIP" f or up t o 24 t racks.
• You cannot set " SKIP" f or all t he t racks on a CD.
