36. Setting the thread tensions

Requirement:
G The thread tensions on the machine are adjusted individually using adjustment dials (figure 61).
GThe higher the number set on the dial, the higher the thread tension.
G The correct thread tension can only be attained when the machine is threaded correctly.
Setting:
G Set the thread tension to be adjusted at "-2".
G Insert a small screwdriver into the gap 75.
G Using the screwdriver, carefully remove the segment 76 of the thread tension adjustment dial.
G Turn the adjustment nut in accordance with the tension.
G Clockwise for more tension and anti-clockwise for less tension.
G Replace the segment 76.
Note:
When carrying out a fine adjustment:
1. Settings must never be changed by more than half a number at a time.
2. Sew a test seam after every adjustment.
