Exotek Instruments BDD "mini"
The Exotek BDD "mini" pin type detector is a very user-friendly tool for mea-
suring moisture content in wood- and other building/construction materials.
Measuring procedure:
1. Press in the pin electrodes in the material:
– wood/timber: 90 perpendicular againt the
o
grain. To measure deeper than 5 mm see 4.
2. Push and hold the ON-button
3. Read the digital display. The result is presented as percetage (%)
moisture content i.e. the weigth relation between the amount of water
and the net weight of the material.
4. The measuring depth can be extended by using thin nails hammered to
the intended measuring depth and the connect the pin-electrodes to the
nails.
Material:
BDD-Mini can measure Moisture Content in different types of material such
as: All types of wood, mortar, concrete, cement, plaster and maisonary.
Moisture content in wood material:
Measuring range 6-60 % MC, resolution 0,1 % MC
Indoor dry = 10-15 %, Outdoor dry = 15-18 %, Very wet > 28 %
Moisture content in
other builing/construction materials:
The displayed values are related to a colour coded scale.
< 17 (Green) OK, dry
17-20 (Yellow) Warning, survey
> 20 (Red) Wet, action is required
Users:
Constructual real estate caretakers/inspectors, homeowners, Wood indus-
try painting and other surfacetreatments,
Applications:
• Detect damp and moisture in walls and floors
• Control moisture content in materials before any surface treatments
are made.
• Locatel source for wet area and dampness
• Classify materials as Wet/Dry
• Use measuring results from a "dry" area as reference value.

Exotek BDD "mini" är en fuktindikator med stiftelektroder och enkelt
handhavande. Användningsområdet är kontroll av fuktighet i byggmaterial
och träprodukter.
Handhavande:
1. Tryck in stiftelektroderna i materialet
– trämaterial: 90º mot virkets fiberriktning för mätdjup mer än 5 mm, se punkt 4.
2. Tryck in ON-knappen
3. Läs av den digitala displayen. Mätresultatet presenteras i % fuktkvot, dvs
viktförhållandet mellan mängden vatten och materialets bruttovikt.
4. För att utöka mätdjupet slå in ett par tunna spikar i materialet tills avsett
mätdjup nåtts, tryck stiftelektroderna mot spikhuvudena, läs av.
Material:
BDD-Mini kan mäta fuktkvot på alla sorters trä, cement, betong, murbruk,
gipsskivor, eternitplattor, tegel, etc.
Fuktkvot i trämaterial:
• Mätområde 6-60 % FK, upplösningen 0,1 % FK
• Inomhustorrt =10-15 %, utomhustorrt =15-18 %, mycket vått >28 %
Fukt i byggmaterial (ej träprodukter):
Resultat från digital display relateras till en skala med grön-gul-röd zon.
