c. Loading a Fluence
" This recovery configuration is not authorised for a Fluence
" Make sure no-one is in the immediate vicinity when the vehicle is being loaded.
" Position the recovery vehicle as close to and in line with the vehicle to be recovered and proceed as
follows:
•
Comply with the recommended recovery configurations shown above
•
Deploy the arm as close as possible to the broken down vehicle
•
To facilitate the movement of a broken down vehicle with jammed wheels, use a jack to raise the
vehicle and place it on one or more dollies
•
Adjust the front mobile spindles on the L/R tow dollies according to the wheel diameter of the
broken down vehicle
•
Adjust the space between the two tow dolly forks according to the track width of the vehicle being
loaded, and respecting the recovery vehicle's centre line
•
Position the vehicle to be towed in the tow dolly
•
Raise the vehicle with the tow dolly and make sure that a distance remains between the body of the
arrow and the front of the vehicle being towed
•
Release the handbrake
•
Place the gear lever in position N (neutral)
•
Set the steered wheels straight and in line with the recovery vehicle
•
Lock the steering
•
Remove the keys from the ignition
•
Place the keys outside the vehicle
•
Adjust the height of the tow dolly ready for transportation, ensuring that the ground clearance is at
least 350 mm (see illustration page 36)
•
Secure the broken down vehicle on the tow dolly (see illustration page 38)
•
Affix the legally required signs to the rear of the vehicle being recovered
