  • Page 10 Fuel consumption, environmental pollution and wear and tear on the engine, brakes and tyres depend on a number of factors. At idle, the engine needs time to warm up to an optimal operating temperature. However, in the warm-up phase, pollutant emissions and the level of wear and tear are very high. Therefore, it is best to start driving immediately after starting the engine gently and without forcing the engine until it reaches optimum operating temperature.

    SAFETY > RUNNING-IN Running-in instructions for engine and transmission CAUTION Excessive engine speed during the running-in period increases engine wear and reduces engine life by up to 50%. Any engine faults during the running-in period must be reported immediately to an official service centre. NOTE During the running-in period, drive smoothly but vary the engine speed frequently.

    GEAR LEVER The motorbike is fitted with a 6-speed gearbox. The gear lever (1) is connected to a gear mechanism (gearbox). After selecting a gear, the gear lever returns to the initial position so that the next gear can be selected. Neutral gear is between first gear (down) and second gear (up).

    DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS > BRAKING Disc brakes with combined braking system (CBS) are available. The Combined Braking System (CBS) means that when the rear brake pedal is depressed, the rear brake and front brake operate at the same time. This system allows the rider to use only the rear brake more safely. Of course, in case of emergency, the rear and front brake must be used at the same time, which ensures sufficient braking force.
