M e n u f u n c t i o n s
In
Automatic
mode the phone
automatically selects one of the
cellular networks available in your
area; the selected network can be
GSM900, GSM1800 or EGSM900.
In
Manual
mode the phone shows a
list of the available networks and
you can select the network you wish
to use if this network has a roaming
agreement with your home network
operator. If no such agreement is in
force, the text
No Access
displayed and you must select
another network. The phone stays in
manual mode until the automatic
mode is selected or another SIM card
is inserted into the phone.

Security settings

Shortcut: Menu 4-8. Your phone is
equipped with a versatile security
system to prevent unauthorised use
of the phone or the SIM card. See
also 'Reference Information' -
'Access Codes'.

PIN-code request

Shortcut: Menu 4-8-1. You can set
the phone to ask for the PIN code of
your SIM card when the phone is
switched on. You will need the PIN
code to turn this request function
on.
Note that some SIM cards do not
allow the PIN code request to be
turned off.

Call barring service

Shortcut: Menu 4-8-2. With this
network service you can restrict the
making and receiving of calls with
your phone. For this function you
need the barring password.
You have the following barring
modes to choose:

barrings, you have the following
options: Activate, Cancel, or Status,
which shows the types of barred call.
When you make a call and a barring
mode is activated, the phone may
display a note reminding you of this.
Outgoing calls
calls cannot be
made.
International calls
be made to foreign countries.
International except to home

within and to your home country.
Incoming calls
calls cannot be
received.
Incoming calls if abroad
cannot be received outside your
home country.
Cancel all barrings
NOTE: When calls are
barred, calls may be possible
to certain emergency
numbers in some networks
(e.g. 112 or other official
emergency number).
