Connect to the network
Make sure you establish a connection between your phone and PC before making a digital data call.

Double-click the new connection (for example, Internet-Nokia CSD).

Enter your user name and password, then click Connect

Your phone displays Connecting... while establishing a connection. Once a successful connection has been made, Data call
appears on the phone's screen.
Your Windows operating system displays its normal series of messages while the connection is being established and verified.
• CONFIGURE AOL FOR CSD
Your America Online software can be configured to use your Nokia phone as a wireless modem for a CSD digital data call. Windows
98/ME users, please continue with the instructions to follow. Windows 2000/XP user, please skip to "Modify Locations" on page 30.
MODEM SETUP (WINDOWS 98/ME)
To add your Nokia phone as a new modem to AOL's connection setup:

From the Sign On screen, click SETUP.

Click Expert Setup, then click the Devices tab.

Click the Expert Add button.

Verify that Modem (telephone line connection) is selected as the type of connection device you want to add, then click Next.

Select the generic modem option (for example, Standard (Hayes Compatible)) from the list of modems.

Select the COM port assigned to the DKU-5 data cable.

Set the port speed to 14400 bps, then click OK.
Modify Locations
Now that your Nokia phone is configured for use by the AOL software, you need to modify
your Locations settings to use your Nokia phone as the active modem.
LOCATIONS SETUP
To modify an existing location:

From the Connection Setup screen, click the Locations tab.

Double-click the number for the location you wish to use with your Nokia phone.

Click the Connect using drop-down arrow. Windows 98/ME users, click Modem: Standard (Hayes compatible) on COMnn
(where nn is COM port for your PC). Windows 2000/XP users, click Nokia CDMA 1XRTT Data Fax Modem.
