Receiving Voice Mail Messages
Using Voice Mail
Advanced Voice Mail Features
Voice Mail Tree
This section covers the most commonly used Voice Mail features. Once you log
into Voice Mail, you can access a number of innovative features covered in this
chapter. After you access Voice Mail, an automated system tells you each menu
option and which button to press to make a menu selection. See Nextel Voice
Mail Tree on page 64.
Setting Up Your Voice Mail Box
You must set up your Voice Mail box before you can retrieve messages. Before
getting started, see "Recording Your Active Greeting" on page 56 for
information you may want to include in your greeting.
Using your i2000plus phone, dial your 10-digit Nextel Personal
1
Telephone Number.
If you are calling from a phone other than your Nextel i2000plus phone,
dial your 10-digit Nextel Personal Telephone Number. When you hear
the greeting, press * to access your Voice Mail box.
The system will prompt you to "Enter your password." Enter the last
2
seven digits of your Nextel phone number (example: 5557777). This is
your temporary password.
