Maintenance and Care
1. If the can opener slows during cutting, this
may indicate a low battery level and the
batteries should be replaced. If the can
opener stops during operation, refer to the
chapter Trouble Shooting.
2. To clean the cutter, first push back the
battery door (2). The remove the front cap
(5) (see fig. F). Wipe the cutter with a damp
cloth or a sponge using a mild non-abrasive cleaner, followed by a clean and
dry cloth and dry it completely. Replace the front cap and the battery door
after cleaning.
Note: The front cap cannot be removed without pushing back the battery
door as they are interlocked.
Troubleshooting
1. If the can opener is jammed due to low
battery level or a deformed can rim, press
and hold the reverse switch (4) at the rear of
the can opener. The can opener will move in
the reverse direction and release the can.
Keep the reverse switch pressed until the can
opener stops (see fig. G).
2. If batteries are empty, the can opener may
not be released by pressing the reverse
switch. In this case, replace the batteries with a new set of batteries.
Caution! The can opener will automatically resume cutting when the battery
door has been closed.
3. Cans with heavy seams, odd shapes or uneven rims may stall the can opener.
If this happens, follow above procedure to release the can. Start the cutting
action just beyond any minor bump or dent in a can.
Note: The can opener will not open rimless cans or cans with odd corners.
